Introduction:

The department of psychology came into existence in the academic year 2000-01. Initially, psychology was offered with humanities-B.A course and with increased popularity of the subject it was extended to science- B.Sc. course with the total of 4 combinations [3 in humanities & 1 in science]. The department offers elective papers in the 2nd& the 3rd year degree course.

Vision statement: The Department of Psychology endeavors to create a collaborative environment for innovation, scientific discovery and dissemination of psychological knowledge.

Mission statement: The department of psychology encourages students to engage in critical thinking, nurture their intellectual curiosity, collaborate with others, and explore interdisciplinary ideas and connections.

Departmental library:  The departmental library houses books on varied topics of interest. The library is open from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on all working days.

Departmental Laboratory

The department has well equipped labs with a number of psychological tests and instruments. Students are trained to work with the same.

b Departmental meeting is conducted on every thursday of the week to discuss the departmental issues and updating knowledge in the subject.

c. Students are allowed to refer the departmental library in the laboratory.
